The Pre65 Club couldn't put on events without the support of the St John Ambulance service. To show our appreciation, the August Maylandsea meeting has traditionally become an event where there are additonnal events aimed at raising a donation for the St John Ambulance. A raffle and cycle race were among the fund raising events, and helped to raise £388 that was donated by the club.
From time to time, the club also has to call on the services of the Essex Air Ambulance. Chief Marshall Jamie Marks completed a half marathon in July, with all funds being donated to the Essex Air Ambulance. Jamie completed the distance in an impressive 2 hours and 45 minutes and raised a fine total of £420.
